About the event

FLUDDLES is a documentary about the agricultural wetlands of Illinois and the birds that rely on them. Sometimes simply described as “big puddles,” fluddles appear in the spring and fall and provide habitat and forage for a diversity of waterfowl and shorebird species. FLUDDLES takes viewers on a journey to these secret, oft-fleeting wildernesses at a time when Illinois has lost 90% of its original wetlands. FLUDDLES showcases the movement underway to restore wetlands, improve water quality and soil health, expand habitat, and reduce run-off.

FLUDDLES is a film by Bob Dolgan (MONTY AND ROSE) and the second film in his Prairie State series on Illinois nature following THE MAGIC STUMP. Dolgan is a birder, filmmaker, and marketer as well as the author of This Week in Birding. He resides with his family in Chicago.
