About the event

DAS's new Climate Watch initiative, a program of the National Audubon Society, will take place on 5/21 with a rain date of 5/28, counts will take place in the morning, more details will be available at the Climate Watch Training on 5/14. Volunteers should attend training ahead of the event on 5/21. The National Audubon's Climate Watch initiative focuses on migrating birds and understanding how changing climates may affect migration patterns spatially and temporally. This is a great activity for all birders, including beginner birders since we will focus on three species of birds specifically, although all birds will be counted. The count will take approximately 1-2 hours and volunteers will make up five groups with each group monitoring a premapped route in one of four parks across the Decatur Audubon territory - all within Macon County and near Decatur. Groups and routes will be determined at the training event on 5/14.
