About the event

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. DAAS's Climate Watch initiative, a program of the National Audubon Society, will take place on 1/25 with a rain date of 2/1, counts will take place in the morning beginning at 8 am. Volunteers should attend training ahead of the event on 5/21. The National Audubon's Climate Watch initiative focuses on migrating birds and understanding how changing climates may affect migration patterns spatially and temporally. This is an excellent activity for all birders, including beginners, since we will focus on three species of birds specifically, although all birds will be counted. The count will take approximately 1-2 hours, and volunteers will make up five groups, each monitoring a pre-mapped route in one of four parks across the Decatur Audubon territory - all within Macon County and near Decatur. TO VOLUNTEER, PLEASE CONTACT KRISTEN RAGUSA, CONSERVATION CHAIR AT DECATUR-AUDUBON@GMAIL.COM.
