About the event
The Decatur Audubon Society (DAS) is inviting the greater Macon County community to join our team as we participate in the Illinois Audubon Society Big Day. Registration for the Big Day began on April 1st and the Big Day event will be held Saturday, May 13th. To learn more about the Big Day and how you and your entire family can participate visit https://illinoisaudubon.org/programs/chapter-big-day-registration/. Participants do not need to be in Macon County and bird sightings can be anywhere in Illinois. The Decatur Audubon Society will be awarding local prizes to registered DAS Chapter participants in the following categories:
- 18 and Under: Most Birds Identified
- 70 and Over: Most Birds Identified
- Overall Most Birds Identified
- Family Group (2 or more cooperative birders of any age, any location): Most Birds Identified
- Backyard Birder: Most Birds Identified
